STAR PARTY The moon: A Celebration

In anticipation of the Artemis II mission to the moon in 2026, where humans return to the moon for the first time in over 50 years, this presentation discusses the origin of the moon, key lunar features including lunar eclipses, the history of moon exploration and an overview of NASA’s Artemis Program and how it links to the future of space exploration.

David Lee

David Lee has been an amateur astronomer for over 30 years. He is an advocate for astronomy and the sciences through the public outreach programs of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Forever a tourist of the night sky he has explored the night sky through optical instruments and imaging equipment.

 

Kirsten Pedersen

Kirsten Pedersen retired from the BC Public Service in 2023 where she served for over 33 years.  Kirsten has always lived in Victoria BC and enjoys an active lifestyle, travel, music, art, astronomy and observing the skies.   Kirsten is currently Vice-President of the Victoria Chapter of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada
